Revolutionizing Your Supply Chain Experience

Sehat is committed to providing unadulterated grains, milk, and vegetables, ensuring a transparent and sustainable sourcing process that benefits both consumers and producers alike.

What does Sehat bring in for the consumer ?

Our aim is to enable unadulterated grains, milk, vegetables etc. This seems to be the same old story of organic farming ? Not exactly. We plan to go phase by phase.

The end-goal will be ofcourse Organic food. Hence, there arises a question how is this different from the existing set of Organic Grocery stores. Our aim is to vanish the distinction between organic and un-organic. Further, we wont have any stores. We will have selective products with limited quantity and delivered to you directly by our representatives.

Phase 1 (POC) : Source the data as-is as

What are the benefits here ?

Grains/Cereals : You get unpolished grains. Rice for example, if you wish you can even purchase the rice with husk on it, you are welcome to do so. However, the aim here is to avoid any kind of adulteration.

Vegetables : Fresh vegetables which are not grown on industrial waste water or any other waste water (No pesticides on veggies)

Milk : Milk is not planned to be supplied in phase 1 considering the shelf life. This will require us to set up a pasteurising plant which can only be done once we have enough traction in phase 1.

Phase 2 : Partial organic and low pesticides

If you are aware, switching from non-organic to organic cannot be done overnight. The production can get reduced by 50% to 100%. This is a risk which farmers are reluctant to take. Having said that, we can convince them to provide better rates and ask them to go organic for ¼ of their farms

This will lead to a hike in rates, so we would have a low supply but also low demand. This would be a very crucial point of this project. If the demand exceeds the supply only then farmers will be requested to go 50% organic on their farms.

For those who are unaware of the nitigrities, Organic fertiliser has been on decline resulting in higher costs while chemical fertilisers are cheap and readily available. Further, the seeds were modified in such a manner that they grow multifold (This means, in earlier days, one seed can grow a single plant but now, one seed can grow multiple plants). But this comes with a price, it requires more nutrients from soil. This resulted in deteriorating the soil hence the need for chemical fertilisers arose. It will take some time for the soil to go back to its original potential. All these factors will result in low crop production.

Phase 3 : Depending on the demand, we will ask our farmers to go organic on 50% of their farms.

No major change here, but we can cater more consumers. This will open up a cannel for us to supply milk from the farm.

We plan to provide both buffalo milk and cow milk.

Phase 4 and 5 will be just about scaling the idea and associating with more farmers and consumers.

As you see, there are 3 parties involved, Consumer, Farmer and Sehat Team and 2 different models.

First model is a general consumer who is interested to purchase the products on-need basis, second is the farmer adoption model.

We plan to operate our POC to source the material from Kolhapur-Belgaum belt where we have better knowledge of the conditions and better connect with locals.

Now, let's come to the second model.

Until now, you might have observed that the logistics were handled by Sehat. However, our second model is actually a very unique concept of Farmer adoption.

Essentially, the consumer will select which crop he is interested in and select from a list of farmers who are willing to supply that particular crop.( One farmer may have multiple crops.)

This model is very unique but risky too from the consumer point of view. Hence, someone who feels a social responsibility towards farmers and the nation can opt for this model.

What is the role of Sehat in this model ?

We we help verify the past 3 years of average income of these farmers to determine a reasonable amount. Further, our team will help ensure the farmer adheres to good practices. Consumers can opt for direct financial transactions with the farmer or use Sehat as an intermediary to enable both sides to trust.

Farmer adoption means, someone provides a guaranteed income to the farmer and in-turn the farmer gives away his production keeping aside his annual family needs. Also, the primary goal here is that the consumer encourages the farmer to do organic farming there by good quality crop, help maintain the soil nutrition and secure the farmer. Consumers can have an annual visit to the farmer and learn and experience his farms.
